"A Mind Is…" Gala presented by Alaska Airlines will be held on February 22, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Seattle. The mission of the gala is to recognize the corporations, foundations, and individuals in the Pacific Northwest who have made a commitment to support minority education. The event spotlights students,donors, and UNCF member schools.

 

 The evening will feature:

 Corporation of the Year

 Individual of the Year

 UNCF Portfolio Project Scholarship Presentation

 Dessert Frenzy - Dianne's Delight

  Live Performance

 

The evening will also include dinner and silent/live auctions. We anticipate 600 guests, corporations, historically black colleges and universities' (HBCUs) alumni, and UNCF major donors. The event provides you with the opportunity to become a donor to minority education and align yourself with others who see education as the foundation to building better futures.

 

The thirteen annual UNCF "A Mind Is…" Gala was presented by Alaska Airlines it featured the UNCF Dr. Frederick D. Patterson awards presentation to- "Jordan Brand" Corporation of the Year and Mike Flood - Individual of the Year Award.  Our guest had the pleasure of a live performance by Tiffany Hammond. The event had 600+ guests in attendance and raised $300,000 to benefit the UNCF Pacific Northwest Scholarship Fund, UNCF Portfolio Project Scholarship, and UNCF member institutions. The major sponsors included Alaska Airlines, PACCAR, Costco, Albertson Companies Foundation, Union Bank, Seattle Seahawks, Starbucks, US Bank, Vulcan INC , and Kaiser Permanente. The event chairs were Dr. Albert Black - Retired Professor, University of Washington and Kercedric Holley-Bell- Senior Vice President, US Bank.
